WBA-Retail: Jan 14 Meeting

Hi all,
We had a great meeting this morning.  Aside from great coffee and yummy breakfast treats, here are the highlights:

1.  Christmas Shopping weekend equaled success.  There was some discussion about when to have it this year (preview party is already set for Dec 6), with the focus being whether to have it the same weekend as the trees go up or the next weekend.  No decision, just discussion.  It was also suggested that we consider advertising after the weekend too for the rest of the Christmas season, and to run an ad congratulating the raffle winner.  It was decided that the raffle tickets were really only stamped that special weekend, so we probably would want to do the raffle for that weekend only next time.

2.  State signs:  we are looking at having a sign at exit 8 and 9 that would read:

Warner Village
Shops, Restaurants, Museums
(with an arrow)
I will be contacting the state to get further information.  There renewal date is April 1.  This would be a great benefit to all.

3.  Warner Map:  the map will be redesigned with a much bigger downtown circle illustration and the circle will expand to reach some newer businesses too.  This is a great addition to our downtown that we also all benefit from and this redesign will make it much more user-friendly.

4.  WBA membership:  Don't forget to renew or become a member!  You should get the form in the mail, it is also available on the web site and it is so worth your $50 a year to be a part of the Warner Map and your membership will help to support a lot of new ideas to make Warner better.  Also, please approach other Warner business people you know NOW to join and get their information included in the newly designed map!  Several people volunteered to follow up with businesses, artisans, and even the Farmer's Market group to really expand this organization.

5.  Advertising:  There will be times when we want to periodically advertise as a group.  We would love to have someone head up this aspect of the Retailers.  A lot of this is already in place, so it would be great if we could get it down to a science!  Volunteers?

6. Spring Ideas:  Our next meeting will concentrate on a Spring Weekend plan.  Get your ideas flowing and come to the next meeting:
