Today's meeting minutes (Mary style...not quite as good as Laura's, but she needed a break!)

1. The ad that was made for the Intertown summer fall guide would make a great poster. With a few tweaks, it could be printed and posted, well, everywhere! I will ask Sandy to add White Mtn (I got your check after the deadline, sorry! I will destroy or return it to you Linda!); and also to add "Barn Sale" to the Historical Society name. We can then reproduce it. It also would look good as a general ad for any publications. Let me know if y'all want to do some more group advertising with this ad. As soon as it is ready, we will email it out for you to print and perhaps also get some copies made using a little leftover ad money (we don't have much, but perhaps enough to make copies).

2. It was decided that we would like to contribute to the Jim Mitchell Park Area as a retail group. We, as retailers, all owe Jim a great deal for his pro-active promotion of Warner and all that has gone on here. Therefore, we decided that a gift should come from the retailers. Obviously, each retailer can do as they desire, but if you would like to contribute something toward this as part of the retailers' group, you can send a check of any amount to WBA and please put a post it on the check (or in the memo line) indicating to Ginger that this is a donation to Jim's Park. The deadline is JUNE 30. After the 30th, Ginger will write a check to the MainStreet Inc from the retailers.

3. Two summer ideas that came from Mike McChesney: Balloon Festival--it was pointed out that both Pittsfield and Hillsboro do a balloon festival, so that idea was set aside. The second idea was a bike race up Mt. Kearsarge. This idea needs the passion of someone who does bike racing, and we, off the top of our heads did not know of anyone who might like to take this on, but if anyone out there does know of someone, have them contact someone in the retailer group.

4. Kay Steen suggested an Art Camp. Certainly Brookside has the space for that kind of thing...takers on that idea??

5. Rebecca said we should try to think of a Saturday event to keep the energy of the Farmer's Market (always busy Saturday morning) going Linking events is truly a good idea. Perhaps a simple but fun event could occur on a regular basis that would keep people hangin' in Warner.

6. The topic of consistency in hours for all retailers came up, and all agreed that this will only happen when we round the corner to "more" in Warner.

7. Brochure: Cheryl was unable to attend this meeting, so we don't know what the status is. She will catch us up on the latest.

8. What should our profile/participation be at WFFF? Discussed, but not resolved.

9. Christmas: Next Tuesday is the board meeting, 7:30 AM at the bank. I will present the idea of a Friday night preview party. I will emphasize that retailers would really like it then, and in turn are willing to do what is needed for the manpower part of it. So, if we can get this changed, we will need your help! We all think it would be a better weekend if the preview party could kick off the weekend. Rebecca will attend the meeting with me.

10. The idea of a summer music concert came up and developed into the idea of a tribute to Jim Mitchell. MainStreet Inc., the non-profit group that Jim and family created will be contacted to see if we could make this happen. Is there time this summer? Rick Stewart will begin the first step, asking local musicians about the idea. More on this later...

11. Should we try and plan an advertising budget amount for the year, and have retailers pay quarterly, a set amount? This idea was discussed. Is this something Shirley might be interested in setting up (the budget/plan for advertising)?

12. How can we reach the Hopkinton/Contoocook area, to intrigue them to come to Warner?

Lots discussed, lots to think about!
